I have a lovely ceramic, wheel thrown bowl that looks to be from mid-century or 60s-70s at the latest. Has anyone ever seen this chop stamp mark on another piece? It comes from a collection of stellar ceramic works, so I do believe it to be someone of note. THANKS!

Hi jenascott,
I suspect you are correct on the time frame of your bowl. I would suggest seeking expertice from a group specializing in contemporay or modernist craft. The moderators of this forum are dealing with a period in art history at least 50 years prior to the making of your bowl. The Arts & Crafts Movement spand the years from the late 19th century and ended shortly after the 1920s. Best of luck in finding your maker. Fred Fred (Moderator) http://fredz49.blogspot.com/ |
