Hi,
Im presently doing some research on this specific tile pattern that was produced by batchelder in the 1920s, I believe. If anybody has any leads, I would appreciate them. Im interested in buying some of the large scenic/portrait tiles if possible. Hopefully I wont have to sell my house to acquire them!!!! Thanks, Mario |

Hello Mario,
Welcome to the Arts and Crafts forums and we hope to see you often. As far as the tile of the period you speak I have no resources for them but, I do know what you are talking about as I have seen some in private homes and I do believe they came from New Mexico but, don't quote me on that. Again welcome and I hope your hunt is successful. Respectfully, Ralph Jones http://hometown.aol.com/ralj7/index.htm |

The Batchelder tiles are very disirable and I suspect you may have to spend top dollar. Could you post images of the Aztec tiles you are searching for?

The larger scenic tiles are quite rare and go for many thousands at auction. I think there were a few at the last Rago auction that were around $5,000-7,000, but I believe those were triptychs.
