Several teachers in my building are looking for a Mother's Day project for our Kindergarten and 1st grade children. We had the idea that handpainted ceramic tiles for trivets would be fun. We were going to use tile pruchased at a store like Menards and acrylic paints. However, we were told that this would not be a good idea if something warm were to be placed on the trivet. Any ideas? We do have a kiln available?

Hello and welcome to the Arts & Crafts Movement Forum. The forum was created to promote a better understanding of the historic social , art & craft Movement which began over 100 years ago. I feel you would be better served to ask you question in a forum that discusses current trends in craft and pottery.

Good luck in your search.

Sincerely,
Fred
