I'm glad you mentioned that there's an issue with bitmapped images (BMPs). The forum software specifies that only .jpg and .gif files can be used. I should point out that while you can save images as a .gif, they may not look as nice as .jpgs. The advantage of a jpg is in the way it compresses info into the file to make it small but still detailed. Bitmapped images (BMPs) are not compressed the same way so files are generally much bigger. There is no setting for BMPS, so I suspect that they are not compatible with the forum software. The rule of thumb for artwork on the Web is to use .jpgs for photos and .gifs for graphics.
