Hello, is there anyone out there that can identify my print? It is signed in pencil “H. Ma?.” Is the last name abbreviated? It is in the original frame and mat. The mat has hand done pin striping. It has the original backing paper still on. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum,
This is a wonderful woodblock and appears to be a period piece. I will need to do a bit of research in my library to see if I find this artists name. Can you tell if there is a period at the end of the last name. I suspect it is not abbreviated. Best, Fred Fred (Moderator) http://fredz49.blogspot.com/ |

Hi Fred,
Thank You! Yes, there is a period after the last name "H. Ma?.". I can't tell if the last letter is a "y" a "j" or 2 letters it almost looks like the way an "s" was made, a long, long time ago! The actual print is 8-1/in. tall x 9-1/2in. wide. It most definitly is a period piece. thanks - Patricia |
