I am trying to discover how I should mount my house number (on a gate pillar) in true A&C style? Can anyone help?

is the pillar wood? if so, is it in fairly good condition with no rotting or eniormous cracks in it? how big around is the pillar? if u can send me the answer to these questions along with the type of lettering u r going to put up (wood, metal, etc.) i can tell you the best way to mount them. i worked in this kind of work for many yefars.

thank you for your reply. The pillar is actually brick and is the entrance to 3 houses so we simply want 3 2 digit numbers on the sign. I would like guidance as to what materials I should use i.e. wood/metal/mixture of both? many thx.
