Hi, I am currently looking to buy my first home with my wife and kids. I (like many others) am looking for a deal. However when i found one it seemed to have a LBP problem. Although the testing came back negative for harm to people i am still concerned especially about how this may effect my children of 4 and 10 in the future. Although I have found some information on safe removal i am wondering if complete removal of interior sheathing would be effective. I was thinking that with doors, windows, sheetrock(panelling), and ceiling removed that the house being completely gutted could be then cleaned thoroughly enough to remove any chance of contamination. Is this a good idea or is it not cost effective? I am a carpenter from ten years ago lots of things have changed and i am a little rusty when it comes to environmental statutes. Can any one help?
