I am an interior design student and am doing my final research and design project on Arts & Crafts style (renovation and restoration). I need to interview architects and other designers who have experience with Arts & Crafts design for the research portion of the project.

Does anyone have any recommendations for designers or architects in the Denver, Colorado area? Any great designers or architects outside Colorado, who I could talk to via email or telephone?

Other members of the forum might have specific recommendations for your project, but you might also check with the Society of Architectural Historians for recommendations. They have some student resources including a listing of the faculty at University of Colorado at Denver. Another resource that might be fruitful is the AIA - Colorado. They are usually very eager to help and may be able to point you to specific architects with an interest in restoration work. The Colorado Historical Society has a group dedicated to archeology and historic preservation. Finally, another good way to find a good designer, builder, or architect specializing in historic restoration is to walk around a neighborhood and look at construction signs. Often, companies specializing in this kind of work like to advertise their skills while the work is in progress.

Aim for a cross section of pros as an architect has a completely different perspective from a general contractor.

If you want to wander through the Marketplace list on ACS, you might be able to locate someone. We are in the process of updating the list, so I can't vouch for anyone on it.
