I am working on restoring an arts and craft 2 family home in Buffalo, Ny. Everyone said I was nuts for buying this house. It needs alot of TLC. I saw the potential. I began ripping off some of the siding and aluminum eaves covering all the old woodwork. SO far I am pleased with what I am finding. Please let me know what you think, your opinions, and suggestions. Thanks
Keith

Here are some interior pictures. You may notice college students have overtaken and unfortunately ruined some of it.

This is where I am about 5 months into the restoration. I have found that there is nice woodwork, shingles and clapboard siding.

Hello Keith,
I just now noticed your post and you have indeed a A&C house and if it were or is in the Chicago area I would say it could be an Frank Lloyd Wright design as his home on Oak Street in Chicago where the studio was on the first floor and he and his family lived on the second floor.

Where is your house located?

So far as I can tell you have made some progress and should you have some trim missing and can't find any like it email me at Ralj7@AOL.com.

I should be able to help you if I have a sample of the trim you need.

Respectfully,

Ralph Jones

My house in in Buffalo, NY. It is across from Cazenovia Park which is an Olmstead park. I as I am taking the siding off and aluminum trim, I am finding all the original woodwork and trim. I would attach a picture, but I can't seem to make them larger. The house is really an attractive house, once the modernizations are taken off.

Hopefully this picture is better for viewing the progress. I have lots of siding and aluminum to still remove. So far so good, the shingles and clapboard seem to be in great shape. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Keith,

The detail work is wonderful and I commend you for taking on the restoration. I am certain you will not regret it and will be very pleased to live in it.

Continue showing us your progress.

Thanks,

What a difference! Can you believe the PO thought the new siding looked better than the original. Your house has great curb appeal!

Good job!
