I have a small 1 story home built in 1923--has hipped roof and porch, and an archway (plaster) between the living and dining rooms. What style does this reflect? The house is too small to have craftsman style built-ins, but the woodwork is beautiful. The ceilings are 9' high, coved plaster, with wooden picture rail. Plaster walls in the living space are highly textured (dimpled) but smooth in other rooms. Is this "colonial revivial?" I think the exterior is narrow clap board (under the new siding). thanks!

Sounds like a nice little cottage. Can you post some photos? Kind of hard to narrow it down based on the description alone.

A good picture of the porch supports and railings will help identify the style of the house. Window details (the mullion designs)and window trim can also determine if it is craftsman or colonial revival. A picture of the fireplace that shows the mantel, any tile work, etc. can also pinpoint the style.

The arch sounds wonderful. Your heavy textured walls could be a FLW influence. He did not like wallpaper and would do that type of wall treatment to make it impossible for anyone after him to add wallpaper. This is seen in his Prairie style homes in Illinois.
