Any help to find value of Oak chaise, 30'W x 60"L x 30"H at headrest, also a place near Phila to sell it? I bought it in the late 1980s in Media PA. Am moving and can't take it along. It weighs a ton. Rope is new--the old rope had disintegrated. Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum. We would need and image to even begin to help you. Is the chaise in the Arts & Crafts style?

Yes, Fred it is an A&C piece for sure. Will send you a pic tomorrow. Have never seen one like it. Bought it in Media, PA, near Rose Valley but it is not a Rose Valley piece for sure.
Thanks very much Greendance |

I am having trouble attaching photos. Is there a secret permission handshake I need to get? System will not upload. and I do not see a Help for that. Greendance |

I read through some of the past discussions, and read someone's tutorial, about photobucket. It a very user friendly website. Prior to this, I have always been intimidated posting pictures. Hopefully, this will be of some help to you. Thanks. Tim

I looked at the pictures and saw no chaise, but the mention of rope supports points to Joseph McHugh.

Hi Ray,
I think you might be right on the fellow who used rope in some of his work but, if memory serves me right there were several who used rope including Roycroft chaises. Hey Tim, glad to see you on here again and as per our phone call last night your cabinet door is done except for cutting the glass holding trim. I made 1/4 round 1/4" x 1/4" and they will hold the glass well. Respectfully, Ralph Jones http://hometown.aol.com/ralj7/index.htm |

Hi Folks,
Thank you for all the help. I made the original post. Believe it or not, I had two offers for the chaise--of $2,400 an $3,000. David Rago here in NJ said they had some at auction recently that went for $500. Unsigned too. It all became moot when my grad-school-age daughter decided she wanted it. I paid $145 for it in Media PA in the 1980s. Thank you a thousand times. Greendance |
