The good thing about Southern Illinois is that your are at least five hours or more from Chicago and a couple of hours from St. Louis. Buyers won't come from those cities on a Sunday drive.

Also, the roads down there were known to be winding, twisting and a pain to travel. So you have to be dedicated to make that kind of a trip. We know that you are very serious about your passion for A & C.

One thing you might do Don is check and see if this is being advertised in any of the normal A & C spots. If not, you might be the only serious collector. (At least that is the way it was when I grew in Illinois.)

Good luck.

Let us know what happens.

Bev.

Bev, you are correct about some of the curvy, winding roads in southern Illinois. But the last time I came through that region, I do remember that Illinois interstate 57 does run approximately 5 miles from the town of Anna, where the auction is located.
If someone is able to attemd the auction, please let us know how it turns out.

Thanks for posting the auction info. I liked the bar...looks like it might be British Art Nouveau. My district for work now includes St Louis to St Paul...the avenue of the Saints. Maybe I should put in an absentee bid and see what happens. The Gus pieces look like they've been at a minimum overcoated.
