This is a fairly simple L & JG Stickley desk. I can't find one exactly like it anywhere and was wondering if anyone had a thought on it's value. It's in overall good condition, with a smaller imperfection to the top.

It doesn't look like oak - can you confirm? What shop mark is on this one?

It is oak, but I actually went over and looked at the piece (had formerly just seen pics from the seller) and it's pretty obvious that it was painted at some point and then stripped and refinished (green paint in some of the grain/joints).

Stripped and refinished means no shop mark I guess Frown Without really checking any references but if it can really be confirmed that it's L&JG (not just the seller saying it is) then it should in theory be over 1000 (by simple comparison to other simple LJG tables), but maybe not too much over, or even less, if its an obvious refinish with issues; might be worth refinishing it again ??

It might be worth anther refinish, but I'm not sure at this point. He's asking $750 for it. I think I'll follow my gut reaction and leave it alone. Thanks much for all of your input!
