69in tall w/16.5in base

I have seen auction pics of a Limbert costumer similar to this with a so-called 'cruciform' base, however these have had exposed through tenons and simple hooks attached to the top, not the extensions with copper hooks as seen here. I do not have a copy of the Limbert catalogue reprint that I know is out there but maybe someone does or has thoughts on whether this is a Limbert. As you can see it also has a nice patina and chamfered edges - if not Limbert, still a good find I think. Cheers.

(I hope the pics work!)

I don;t remember seeing a Limbert piece like this one.. Wonderful piece .. Is there a stamp on the bottom ?? Or small initials ? Probably on the under side of the base..

Unfortunately there is no discernable stamp anywhere. Here's a costumer identified as a Limbert, with the same cruciform style base, but with through tenons. Maybe mine is simply by a different maker but with some elements 'borrowed'.

Hello Stonecat,
Looking through my Antiques and collectibles books, and my furniture guides I can not find anything that resembles your hall tree by Limbert.
It may be a replica by another designer, however it does have some distinct value. Is there a stamp or mark anywhere?

I would like to get better acquainted with you so if you would email me at Ralj7@AOL.com or click onto my addy on the bottom below my signature and go to my tutorial web site.

Respectfully,

Ralph Jones

Another update

- found this one while surfing around - same cruciform style base, seems like a semi-common design now!
