Below are some photos of the furniture collection at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse. Small collection but very nice pieces.
http://www.everson.org/museum/index.htm The inlaid chair is on loan from David Rudd at Dalton's. We also stopped by his place - highly recommended. I didn't take any pictures there since you can view most of the inventory and many pictures of the interior at their web site. David was super nice - he talked to us about new pieces he had, answered lots of questions, and told us what to see in Syracuse - all while it was quite obvious we were not going to be buying any furniture! http://www.daltons.com/ Stickley furniture collection at the Everson Museum of Art Daltons American Decorative Arts |

Very nice. A Gus book stand like the centre piece in the top picture just sold on eBay - a little rough, went for 1000+ I think.
There is/was a TV show called the Antique Hunter, up my way, which did a spot about Dalton's a year ago maybe, and I think they mentioned that a fair number of people just drop in to look and not buy, which I guess makes it a bit of a tourist attraction in itself. |

Thank you for the pictures. It is nice to see the Everson recognizing the local heritage for a change. When we were in Syracuse, they were totally focused on bizarre ceramic pieces and ignored the Stickley heritage.
Dalton's is in a section of town known as Eastlake. A house once owned by Gustav is nearby, and Eastlake is the name of a finish offered on the modern Stickley reproductions. Bev wrote a piece on David Rudd for a local paper many years ago, long before he became nationally known. |
