Here's a good deal on a Woodcraft Guild table:

The Woodcraft Guild was the original name for the Lakeside Craft Shop, from 1909-1911. For comparison, here's essentially the same table in a shop (cutouts a little different):

Priced a little on the high side at the shop I think, like $1000 too high Eek, but it helps to suggest that the eBay 'Buy It Now' table is a decent deal. I might have gone for it but I messaged the seller about shipping to Canada, and he won't do it, plus from Oregon it might be pricey, but for the U.S. he quotes a flat rate of $35.

Yes, great table! I love the cutouts. I have actually had it saved in My ebay for days. Thanks for the info on Woodcraft Guild eventually becoming LCS.

If the Woodcraft Guild was in business for two years before the name change for the next seven years, 1912-1919 being the first version of LCS, then the Woodcaft mark is going to be much rarer plus the production numbers in the first couple years were probably lower than peak years for LCS, so overall a more desirable piece. I would want to ask him about the refinished top though, just to confirm what was done, because why would someone refinish the top but not the rest, i.e. the worn finish on the legs?? On the other hand, his handle is stickleydecor so maybe he's a dealer and knows what he's talking about.

Someone picked it up for $255 plus $32 shipping! What a bargain...

I suspect that someone who wanted to fix up the table a little but not do a lot of worked just sanded the finish off the top (belt sander would have been quick and easy) and added some stain and polyurethane or lacquer. No patina there.

I wonder too if someone trolling through the messages here, or doing a search for WG, read our messages and jumped on it Smile

If so, I originally meant to say "what a rip-off price for a hunk of junk" Big Grin Roll Eyes

..seriously, probably won't see too many pieces with that mark, so 'nice buy'
