I just bought a small tabouret that is marked with the Quaint Furniture tag / Stickley Brothers. However, I am concerned that the top boards are not splined, but are more generic in that they are "tongue and groove". This does not seem to be consistent with Stickley Brothers manufacturing. Does anyone out there have any information on Stickley Bros. using this type of joinery?
I am attaching a picture (I hope!) {fixed images} |

I've seen all sorts of variations on joinery methods; I wouldn't use that as a gauge of authenticity in itself. One of things that does give one pause is the proliferation of tags for sale on Ebay. The Quaint tag is one I see quite often. I'm not syaing your table is a phony but rather I'd watch out in general for that sort of trickery.
