21 1/2" wide by 27" tall... I don't think that's what it is. There's not enough room for a dart board in the space. No sign's of darts hitting the surface either.. It appears to be pretty old with the spike nails and wood finish. I'm wondering if the pieces around the edges are from an old barrel?? Not really sure? Thanks!
I would like to take the time to welcome you all the the Arts and Crafts Society andwe hope yo continue coming back.
Now as for the item in the picture, you are correct in the fact that it used to be a barrel and was reduced to the size it is and the top was cut and the strap hinges were applied as well as the chain on the inside and it was used for a desk. Most times it would have been used in the winery or brewery but it could have been a desk made by someone with carpentry skills enough to make a desk out of the old barrel.
Thank you for posting the picture as it has been a while since I saw one like it and that was at a winery out in lake Erie on an island of which I forgot the name but, it is across from the island where the Oliver Perry lighthouse stands.
It might be a fanciful old small secretary. Hanging writing desk. Gus Stickley's first little standing secretary was diminutive, if not impractical for its size was so small and few letters could be kept in it.

Thank to you, it's a pleasure to be here! As far as the barrel/desk...Thanks for the information! I have never seen anything like it and had no clue as to what it was until now..
