Hello. I found today a LIMBERT'S DUTCH HOLLAND ARTS AND CRAFTS FURNITURE Advertising Piece. This little wooden Dutch shoe measures 4" in length. I can post pictures this evening. Has anyone ever seen an advertising piece like this for Limbert?
Thanks, Donna3450

Hi Donna and welcome to the forum.

I have never seen this type of ad for Limbert. It may appear in Stephen Gray's book "Limberts Holland Dutch Arts and Crafts Furniture". I believe it is a reprint of an old catalog.

Looking forward to seeing an image of the shoe.

Well..I managed one picture. Smile But it's the best one! There is a small hole on the other side of the shoe (you can see it in back of the "H" in dutch. I am not sure if this was attached to something. Since we are collectors of arts and crafts furniture and pottery, I immediately knew I had the "find of the day" at the rummage sale. It was well worth the quarter I paid for it!!

Donna -

Welcome to the forum. I'd say your quarter was well spent!

Just curious ... where the devil did you find it? (That is, what state?)

Rikki,

I found it here in Central East Florida at a church rummage sale. We have many "transplants" here (90 degrees here today versus freeze / frost warnings in Chicago Smile

I personally emailed someone that deals in Arts and Crafts and he indicated that he has seen these before.

Donna,

What a wonderful and rare item. You were right to snap it up. It is a good example of Pyrography as well. Congratulations and many thanks for sharing it with us.

Fred, Thanks. I didn't know anything about Pyrography until you mentioned it (that is was an "art form" from that era)! Thanks for all your help!!
