I would like some idea if the table I have is worth anything if at all. Its from the stratford chair co. its 56" long, with a built in leaf and I believe it to be solid walnut. the table is stamped may 9 1942 and has an original delivery tag stapled to the bottom of the top.I don't have any idea what to sell it for, I have to sell it locally and don't want to over/underprice it? Any ideas would be gratefully accepted.
Thanks in advance, tina w |

Tina,
Your table was made quite some time after what is considered as part of the Arts & Crafts Movement period. It is possible that it was designed in the Arts & Crafts style. Stratford Chair Co. was a Canadian manufacturer that did make furniture in the Arts & Crafts style. Without an image we would not be able to say. Walnut was not a common wood used during the Movement. Most of what you see on the market and advertized during the first part of the 20th century was made from quartersawn oak.
