Hey guys.

I got an Ethan Allen Brass Bed. This thing has been lying in my mothers house for quite some time, so she decided she wants to get rid of it.

Being the person that I am, I took it off her hands before she threw it away. I figure this thing has to cost a good penny. Basically, its almost identical to the bed detailed in this ad, but not precisely per say - mines is quite better:

Now I don't know anything about a price range for this thing, but it is in mint condition and I assume it is RARE because I could not find it anywhere on the Ethan Allen website.

So where do I go about finding out how much this antique is worth? So I can sell it.

The Item details from the tags (which are still attached) read - Ethan Allen Brass Bed Collection. It doesn't exactly mention model #s in the the pamphlet but a bunch of other mumno jumbo like sizes, etc etc.

I figure someone on here might know something.

Thanks in advance!!

I would suggest you try a website that specializes in this style of furniture. This site is geared toward the Arts & Crafts Movement. I would contact an Ethan Allen representative to find information on your bed.

Good luck in your search.

Hi. Regarding your Ethan Allen brass bed, I'm afraid we probably won't be much help. You might check craigslist and ebay for pricing ideas.

Metal beds were extremely common during the 19th and early 20th centuries because they were considered to be much more hygenic than wood bed frames. Brass, especially squared off, frames are often found in Arts & Crafts rooms ... particularly in England.

In case anyone is curious, a good example of such a room is the Willow bedroom at Standen in Sussex. There's a beautiful photo in William Morris and the Arts & Crafts Home that shows it (along with the gorgeous wallpaper).
