I am trying to restore a large style footrest on a Royal Easy Chair. If any one has details on the size and structure of the foot rest and its'front "wire" support, I would appreciate getting a copy of the information. The support bracket is still present (see picture), but the footrest and the "wire" support for the front of the foot rest in missing. My chair's foot rest is not the small style that had the magazine rest.

Thanks,

John Pershina

John,

It looks like this antique store has a chair with a similar foot rest.

Most of the others have the little horizontal foot rest and wire magazine basket, this one is more vertical - as if you would rest your calves on it.

Lauren,

Thanks for your reply. I have emailed the store to see if they can provide detailed images. I have also discovered a patent (1386819) that appears to discribe the foot rest that should be on my chair. However, the highest patent number on my chair is only 1271636? Perhaps the wooden footrest rails on my chair are from another later chair? Any thoughts on this patent number discrepency?

I want to sell a Royal Easy Chair and other stuff but this is all new to me. I thought I might have what you need but dad says it has the wire basket. I could go get a picture of it open if you think its what you want. I think its probably like the picture posted 10-30-05.

Thanks Harriet,

Since my chair has the pull out wood portion for a larger style foot rest without the wire basket, I would like to restore it to that condition. I will continue to search for details for the larger footrest.

Thanks,

John
