I am told that this is a Stickley piece. Can anyone help ID it? Most likely Stickley Bros, I suppose, but not in any catalog that I have. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

This could also be a Joseph McHugh piece. My books are packed up right now but the X motif is inidicative of his style. If you take a closer picture of the feet it might help as well. He often used Macmurdo feet as well. Stickley brothers, too, used these styles but without my books, I can't be sure of either. Nice desk!

I picked up the desk today. It is stamped 6808 on the bottom and has a brass Quaint tag (although that could be added to anything at anytime).

I can't find the 6808 model is any catalog. Does anyone have any information?

Thanks!

Good Morning Beenwatching,
I will take a look in my books today if I don't forget it and it might be an L & JG Stickley piece but, I am not sure.

Respectfully,

Ralph Jones

Good news good news, I found your desk in the Craftsman Pittsfield Arts & Crafts auction book March 10th,2001 and there labeling it as stickley brothers. It's the exact desk that you are showing. I hope I have helped you out.

Thanks Again,
Mark & Melissa

I got a bunch of catalogs off of ebay and he still sells them off of there. There the same as the ones I got and the one you want is in there too. I have no idea how you would find out how much it sold for. Craftsman is now Rago's auctions and they only go back to 2002 for their auction results.

I see a May 10, 2001 on Ebay, but not a March 10. I emailed eBay Member: auctioncatalogsonline [member@ebay.com], but he told me he was sold out.

I'll keep looking!

Used bookstores are a good source for these catalogs as well, I have one that go to periodically and I will see if they have one, you are looking for March 10 2001? This store is not really close to me but if I find myself in the area I will scope it out and see what I find.

Hey pete, I just checked ebay and when I typed in Craftsman catalogs the one that you want popped up. If you look close you can see the date at the bottom of the catalog. The catalog cover shows four pics ( a stickley clock, vase, dirk van erp lamp and a gus dresser). He has a buy it now or best offer price and you get like five catalogs.

All,
The Ebay listing was wrong, the picture was correct! I did the Buy it Now and should have a copy of the 3/10/01 catalog on its way. Thanks to everyone for their help, Pete

Are you sure cuz I looked at the listing and that book wasn't one of the dates that he was selling.

He said the picture was correct, the listed date was incorrect. May 10, 2001 was a Thursday--not a likely day for an auction! Anyway, I'll check it when it arrives and look at page 75 if it is the correct edition.

Thanks!

Has anyone seen this model (6808) in a Stickley Bros. catalog?

ballzy_08,
Got my copy of the Craftsman 3/10/01 auction catalog and, you're right, its a perfect match. Finally have confirmation that it is a Stickley Bros piece. I'll still keep looking for it in Stickley catalogs that come along.

Thanks for helping!
