Does anyone know if there's a website that will tell me in detail how the settle seat cushions would have originally been constructed - in/near 1910? I've been digging thru websites tonight, and I can find all sorts of references to springs and a wooden board, but I am looking for the most detailed instructions that I can find. Thanks very much.
I'll take Limbert or any other maker, too. |

Good Morning KEC01,
You have touched on a subject that even I have not been able to find in all of my years of building furniture but, I know there are some out there to be had I just never looked very hard as I had some friends who were upholsters and I just hired them to make my cushions. Now that they are gone from this life I have been using a few processes that they used for A&C pieces as many were not done with the use of sewing machines. Most were done by the use of tacks through the leather into wood bottoms, etc, etc. Respectfully, Ralph Jones http://hometown.aol.com/ralj7/index.htm |
