Hi all,

Can anyone id the maker of this chair? It has a label but not readable.

The chair reclines and has a pull out leg/ foot rest.

The only two makers I know of that did footrests like this are Royal Chair Co. and C.F. Streit Mfg. Co., both of which have been discussed in this forum, so it could be one of these:

Thanks Stonecat!

By the looks of the chair in the other post and comparison of the footrest and labels, I beleive that it is a streit chair co. chair.
The patent info from the u.s.governemt patent office is an almost exact match.
I know it ain't no stickley, but I like the look and think it will look nice in whatever room when it is recovered and restored.

Can you take another shot at posting an image of the chair? I would like to see it.

If you go to my photo album, there are a few more pics there. If you can't access, I will try to figure out how to put pics into a post for all to see. Good luck!

Yes, agreed, appears to be a Streit chair - the label on the front looks like a partial of the black coloured one in the other thread (from Arthur's chair).

Unfortunately, galleries and messages don't move together on this forum. You have 2 other options - link one picture per message, so in theory you can create a couple messages as replies to your own message and just paper clip a picture each time, or, get a free online picture hosting account to upload pictures to (usually 5mb storage free or a pay one with extra storage), and then you copy and paste the url address to the forum (using the 2nd from the right tab in the command line above the message box), and the pic will become part of the message (this is easy once you've done it a couple times).
