I don't know what I'm doing yet,but that's never stopped me before. I have a signed Limbert table, (magazine table?). I bought it years ago from the descendants of one of the original actors from the Flying A movie studios that used to be here in Santa Barbara. It is stamped on the bottom of each of the bottom cross pieces with the Limbert insignia and No. 443. I've always wondered what type of a table it is and what it really is worth. Whenever I go to E-bay, etc. , I can't find the exact table and prices for tables seem to range anywhere from $600 to $2500. It has the original finish on it, not exactly showroom quality but not so bad. If my son will show me how, I'll try to attach a picture in the future...(also,any idea what year it's from?) Thank-you very much! Larry Z.

Larry,
Welcome to the board and thank you for posting. Hopefully we will see that picture soon. I do know that there is a book about Limbert furniture out there: Limbert Arts and Crafts Furniture It is the complete 1903 catalog, and can looks like you can get it used for a pretty good price. Maybe someone here owns the book and can help you out after you upload a photo. Lauren |

Larry,
Looking forward to seeing your Limbert table. Sounds like it could very desirable. I will check my limited catalogs for this model #. I checked Treadways Auction Price Guide of 1987 -97 and do not see a mention of the #443. Fred (Moderator) http://fredz49.blogspot.com/ |

Larry,
The mark is very clear and the table is well and cleanly designed. Unfortunately it does not have the bells and whistles that would make it a WOW! piece of Arts & Crafts Movement furniture. I still would spend the money to have it properly cleaned and restored. You might consider wiping it down and waxing it Some folks like the stains that show the history of the piece. Thanks for showing it to us. Fred (Moderator) http://fredz49.blogspot.com/ |

Thank-you for all of your input on my table. Too bad it doesn't have more "bells and whistles", but it's a pretty cool table in it's simplicity. Thanks again! Larry Z.

Larry,
I am a fan of simplicity. Limbert often had cutouts. These tend to be more desirable. They also produced some very interesting designs that used parabolic curves and slopes. Congratulations on your wonderful table and thank you for sharing it with us. Fred (Moderator) http://fredz49.blogspot.com/ |
