If anyone has any spare money or a left over fortune they can let me have, this would be something I would buy. They just don't make them like this anymore.
btw, just listed on eBay |

I like the wide top rail. It's little design tweaks like this that make pieces from generic makers a little unique (assuming these are generic per se - haven't done any sleuthing yet, see below). It means that some unknown designer in the workshop sat down over a coffee, or a shot of Jack Daniels, and sketched out something a little different than the picture in the Stickley catalogue, and it went into production.
I messaged the seller about the remnant tags he mentions, to see if he can post or email pictures. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6634428382 By the way mrm, how would you feel about loaning me your copy of that Streit catalogue for a few days, so I can scan it!! |

..I guess you have to get it first!..I was going to bid but either recalling you have one of those chairs (and posted about it), or did I look at your profile to see you bought one,..mmmm one or the other,...anyways, I stayed out

..bumping this one back up...
the set sold for 500 and change...guess what..they're Limbert chairs as far as I can tell, based on the catalog match below ...that said, I messaged the seller for more detail on the repairs and the refinishing, he didn't post my questions and he emailed back directly with evasive information that did not directly answer what I asked...so I assume that condition was less than desirable or the seller was just clueless about what I was asking.....buyer beware even when you can identify something - this set could be worth low thousands if in original condition, but as represented, 500 was probably about right |
