Every now and again, you get to build a 'Odd Ball' piece of furniture.. But that makes it fun... This is a 'Morris' style podium, You adjust the tilt by setting the pins as you would a morris chair, and there are a set of adjustable pins for the lower shelves as well..

Great piece! Congratulations. Looks like something that should be used at Grove Park Inn conference.

Is it intended to be a speakers podium or just a library style display podium?

...while we're on the subject, here's a reading stand example I saved from an ebay listing:

Good Morning Friends,
These are some other things that I can and will make for my local library to be used by many in London Ohio where I live.
Thank you for posting them.

Respectfully,

Ralph Jones

I love odd ball pieces.. such a nice change from building 'the same thing'

I have 2 other oddball ideas..

~ A morris settle..

~ A hardtop ottoman/coffee table.. the idea with this was a long coffee table (about 5-6 ft) and 20" deep or so.. the center would be set on a pivot that would allow it to 'flip' and lock into place (a center panel set in a large frame) and would have a hard top on one side, and a cushion on the other side.

The piece was just finished for a new local business, a couple restored a bui;lding back to the original mission interiors, and have it set up as a banquet room.. So it is really to be used as a speakers podium.
