A desk up my way - The results of shill bidding:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/Antique-Mission-Oak-Library-Desk-Tab...QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem ..bid up by someone with zero feedback, and nobody else gets sucked in, so one day later it's up on Craigslist: http://toronto.craigslist.org/fur/235773198.html ...yee haa |

I know, I read that in the eBay Antiques forum a while ago. There are Pros and Cons to it and I guess eBay thinks there are more good reasons than bad. I look at it this way, abuse of the system is there already but most people recognize it and can deal with it. When the new system kicks in and the shill stuff gets out of hand, the sellers who are left holding lots of stuff that they can't get rid of by legit bidding will either disappear or will be the first ones to scream for putting it back to the old system. There's no reason they can't change it back again, eBay can flip flop all they want I suppose. I see it as an experiment; see what happens and then leave it, go back, or try something else.
