I saw this post on Craigslist last night and recognized the form as a Roycroft Little Journeys bookshelf. I'm not sure if this is an authentic piece or not, but it looks like it to me.

I was the second person to respond. Too late! Another one that got away. Frown

Welcome to the forum and I feel your pain. What a nice deal that would have been. Looks as if it needed some attention to the finish. Keep your eyes peeled and thank you for sharing the one that got away.

Actually, I snatched that one up!! I had to drive all the way out to the middle of nowhere to get it! If it makes you feel better, I ended up paying $180. He said he'd had a lot of calls and started in with the, "Well, I'm wondering if I shouldn't wait and see what other offers I get." Yes, that was nice after I spent two hours to get there! I had to back track part of the way since 78 was closed due to wildfires. So, yes, it's a great deal, but I had to work for it(!). It's the original finish and has the Roycroft mark. The top was in very sad shape; apparently it was the only surface used as the two shelves are in mint condition. I just re-finished the top, and I do plan to keep it. It's a really nice form; I always have admired it. Sorry you lost out; I have many times as well on Craigslist!

Kyroller? Hey, didn't you buy a mica lamp from me about a month or so ago? If so, you should share that picture of the file cabinet you found on Craigslist: it's one of the nicest I've ever seen!

Hey yes, that would be me. I'm glad the stand went to someone who knows and appreciates the value of such a piece. It will go well with your period home. I will post the file cabinet as a separate post so I can get some input on it's origins and hopefully some insight as to it's approximate age.
