I have this Oak table and chair of my Mother in laws I am trying to get an id on and possible price. It has a patent tag on the bottle for the table slider which I know Stickley amoung others used and stenciled in black letters. There are 6 chairs which have been recained and reupholstered. There are also 2 leaves. I haven't seen a pedestal like this before. It has a large matching buffet. Any help ID thing and what should I ask for it? Thanks.
Thanks for any help you can offer. |

Hello Julia,
This I can tell you. It is not a Stickley piece but, instead was made by the Brown MFG company of what city I am not sure but it is a fine looking table and the chairs are in good condition. All have been refinished as it is plain to see and most assuredly worth something but, I would suggest that you find an appraiser to give you something to work with. Respectfully, Ralph Jones www.ralphjoneswoodworking.com |

Earlier on a post on this site someone stated the Brown MFG co. just made the table extention part of the table and that that was just the patent number for that. See post
http://forum.arts-crafts.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/3916079532/m/3511088512 So that is why I found this site researching the patent number. Same tag as my table but different black letters. I think the chairs had been refinished but the table top is just from the million of card games and dinners we had their over the years |
