Hi,
I just picked up this stickley rocker. It is not signed. Has anyone seen this form by L&JG with a plank seat? I know that they made chairs with the same plank seat but I have never seen this form before.
Thanks,
Steve

The last time that I saw it my side was in 1923. It looks the same now as it did then.

Hi Steve:

We have a resident JM Young expert on this forum. But to my untrained eye, I think it might be Young with the long corbels. Also, I had a Young with a slightly curved back like that at one time.

To my knowledge from L&JG catalogs is that they did not offer plank seats. J.M Young continued L&JG contracts into the 1920s as institutional furniture (like schools, libraries and such). A plank seat would serve well in such high traffic places.
Leaven's Furniture offered furniture with plank seats.
