I went out this morning to look at an oak ice box a friend had for sale. A few miles down the road there was a local auction. After making the purchase, I decided to go take a look(the people were downsizing, and were selling some tools, smalls, and modern and old furniture).
I spotted an Arts and Crafts arm chair, that was sitting outside the tent, next to some metal shelving, and vacuum sweepers. As usual, I flipped it over, to search for a label, and found one. I held it up, so the sunlight could get to it.
To my amazement, the chair had a Craftsman Workshops paper label. A local dealer who loves Arts and Crafts furniture was there, and left. I couldn't believe he missed the chair.
After waiting a couple of agonizing hours in the cold, I got it bought for two dollars.
While it is not exactly a rare bookcase, sideboard, or something, it is still a decent piece of furniture. I will add pictures soon. Thanks. Tim

Great find. Post 1904/5 Gus dining armchair. Good original finish with orignal leather seat and pyramidal tacks. For 2 bucks! I guess there are still deals out there, or people still don't know what's what. Kudos to you!

Hey Tim,
You rascal you and you didn't even call me to tell me of your find. Great looking chair and don't you dare change anything on it.
I have been very busy in the shop and haven't been up here for a few days.

I have five jobs on the floor at the same time and Andrew my apprentice is also very busy on a few things for his family for Christmas. We are running out of room.I am working on a couple of Greene and Greene Style cabinets that are going to Sonoma, CA. also two table tops of Mahogany with raised scalloped and handcarved edges. I will post pictures later.

Give me a call when you have time.

Ralph
