We would appreciate any information anyone has with regards to the maker of this gun cabinet. More pictures available if needed. Thanks in advance for your time, effort and help.

Definitely looks English...nice piece--although I'd take the guns out. : )

Rago auction sold one just like it and had it listed as an arts and crafts gun cabinet with no mention of maker. Thanks circa vintage design for your time and help. Chuck

I agree with Circa Vintage that this piece could possibly be English. Though not by Liberty & Co. which was a very popular maker at the time. As far as I know, None of the Stickley Brothers (Gus, L & JG or Albert) offered gun cabinets. Neither did Limbert. The tapered and rounded columns at the top of the cabinet are not really American arts & crafts design. Though they were used as the period came to an end by 1917.
The picture is dark so I can't quite make out the hardware. Those can be details that help identify American and English arts & crafts. The piece looks well made. And I like the the arched apron on the bottom. |
