i was at a local dealer yesterday and took pic of a rare signed gus bookcase, uncataloged. it is similar to other mitered mullion cases but larger.

he took it to grove park last year and had lots of interest. it would have gone in the $50k+ range except that is was refinished. i am attaching a pic.

nice piece but way out of my range.

yes, very nice, maybe a commissioned piece

Given the glass sides wouldn't you consider it a china cabinet instead of a bookcase? I always assume glass sides equals china cabinet and wood sides means bookcase.

yes, it is a china cabinet. i just seemed to have bookcases on the brain.

he also had a number of lifetime and limbert cases.

the limbert 3 door case had all the shelves removed at one time so i am making new shelves for him, one of the reasons i was in the shop yesterday, checking size and sample finish.

thanks for the correction
