Ok, I just aquired a wonderful arts & crafts era footstool. Am wondering if it appears to be from any of the major makers or anyone can offer any comments? It is 19" high, has through tenons, and is not singed anywhere that I can see.

..acquired from eBay I assume based on the watermark in the corner
I'd say it's homemade. The slats and the horizontal brace are too thin to be a factory piece - too easy to break, and 9 times out of 10 the top would be padded or at least covered with leather. My opinion anyways |

Yes, I did get it on ebay. I LOVE ebay
Thanks for the feedback and info. It seems to be very solid, with a pretty worn finish, will likely do a brown leather covering with some cushion under it. It is 20" high so is more like an ottoman than a footstool. I think it will be very comfortable and very nice looking with some nice tacked leather on it. |
