I would like to share my experience in finding a wonderful Limbert china cabinet, about 3 months ago. My next door neighbor gave me a flyer for a local auction. In the listing it was mentioned that there would be a few pieces of arts and crafts furniture.
I arrived the day of the auction, and to my surprise, there, standing in the middle of the back yard, was a tall, two door Limbert china cabinet. It had been refinished at one point, and was not marked. I knew it was Limbert, for I had found the matching server a few months prior. Both pieces had a clover leaf on the back (The server had both a paper label, and brass tag on the bottom of one of the drawers).
The auction was full of local antique dealers, who, could have easily out gunned me on this one. I nervously waited for about 3 hours, until the auctioneer came up to the cabinet. After telling the crowd it was the highlight of the sale, I begnan to nervously bid. I ended up paying only 800 dollars for it. I took it home with the help of a hand cart. I did some searching on the 'net, and found a matching china cabinet in Nebraska, with original finish, and paper label, for 8000. I am well aware that mine is worth nothing close to that amount. I was so proud of myself in finding a piece made by my favorite arts and crafts furniture maker, so close to my home. My cabinet now stands proudly in my living room. This just goes to show you that patience eventually pays off. To me, the best part of finding wonderful pieces is the chase, or, the thrill of the hunt. I hope to continue the "chase" for many years to come, and I sincerely hope that those who take the time to read my ramblings are blessed with both the drive and passion necessary to guide them on successful journeys. Take care, and good luck. Sincerely, Tim

Here are a few photos of the matching server, I found this past June. I found the brass tag on the bottom of one of the drawers interesting. It was the first brass tag from Limbert I had ever seen. Thanks, Tim
