A very nice oak side table (with drawer) has a manufacturer's logo featuring the letters M&S followed by an H, K or R, inside a shield that is topped with a drawing of a beaver. Table (possibly flamed oak, and with exceptional details) was found in Toronto. Does anyone recognize this logo? Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, I have a dresser with the same logo on it. But I do not know a whole lot about it. M&S is Marks and Spencer...they were and company from Europe, who now is similar to a Sears, they were making furniture as early as the late 1800s...the puzzling part is the beaver. That usually means it was made in Canada....it could be that Marks and Spencer joined with Hudson Bay???? If you know anything more, please reply, i would love to know more about my dresser!!!
