Does anyone know a good source for pyramid tacks for repairing old mission furniture?

I was able to find a couple of old footstools which were just down to the frames. I've redone the seats in leather, but I am having a hard time finding the correct size pyramid tacks for them. They are either too big, 5/8's and larger, or if they are the smaller ones, they style or color is off.

I'm looking for 1/2" or smaller.

Thanks,

-Frank

Vandyke's restorers has a pyramid head screw with a 1/2" x 1/2" head. They aren't cheap at 4.99 for a package of 4 or 4.49 if you order more than 10 packs. At least it gives you an alternative that should be indistinguishable from the tacks if you can't locate the correct size.

Hope this helps

My memory is not as good as it should be but Turner and Seymour might get you headed in the right direction. Rockford supply Google upholstery and soft coverings forum and post your question there...
If your trying to match existing decorative nails your gonna have a tough time, especially with colors. Can you post a pic of your project so I can take a look, maybe offer some more assistance. I have thirty years under my belt in the uph trade.

Hello Franklin,
Welcome to the Arts and Crafts Society and we hope this will not be your last trip up here.

Flash has given you some sound advise, I have used them myself when I needed some products for refurbishing a piece.

Respectfully,

Michael Fitzsimmons in Chicago did offer tacks at one time. He does offer period hardware and other reproductions.

Thanks for all of the great advice. I was able to find some suitable tacks on the Rufkahrs website.

I'll try to post some pictures once I get it finished.
