Hi, I was wondering if anyone on this board could help me out. I know very little about fixing furniture. I have this sideboard that I want to put in the entry of my home, but when trying to repair a few blemishes, I sanded way too hard, getting rid of all the original stain. I used some stain I had, but it doesn't really match. also on the front, the scratches will not go away at all with the stain I have. Any Ideas on what to do in order to make this look presentable?

Thanks!

Hello Dave,
Since the finish looks rather thing anyway, just use denatured alcohol and clean the finish off the parts that are not painted and after it has dried or evaporated over nigh re stain with light oak and when dry over night apply you finish with anything but polyurethane varnish.

Respectfully,
