Stonecat-
Fantastic!! The pictures are obviously tiny here but I can already tell that I am going to like it. Labels, info, identifying pics, great! Looks like it could be used printed as a pdf and put into a binder or viewed online or from a stored desktop file... Have you come up with a cost to purchase or even decided if that is going to be a possibility?

Nice tease eh Big Grin

I'm thinking it will just be a good quality pdf on CD when I decide its essentially done. I haven't had the time to get into the website approach but this is still a possibility and the best way to stay updated.

Basically I'm thinking for cost recovery to go with a flat 20 bucks, so minus cost of a CD blank and case, a mailer package, and the shipping price, I could/would make 10 bucks or so per copy. At 20 bucks thats less than 10 cents per page, and there are more pages I still want to add.

I guess I should keep up with the yahoo stuff - sort of missed the discussion there on C & E - I'll ask those guys for pics of the brass tag and paper tag they mentioned

In the attached pic the top tag is from the china cabinet shown on the right (been in the data base for a while), the middle tag is from non mission but has the Square Brand logo mentioned by the guys on yahoo, and the bottom tag is from a mission style kids desk and chair that I assume is affiliated. The link in the yahoo group regarding company info is as good as it gets for this one I think.

In regard to GC&C I think the mark is any shade of brown in any shape and/or size that fits on the back of any piece that doesn't have a tag of any other description Big Grin Cool ...as noted this is a big company and they probably had many factories Smile ...apologies to those who have no idea what GC&C is

...old King thread, remember?

http://forum.arts-crafts.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/3916079532/m/1511075941

I haven't really found any info on this company other than a single listing in the Grand Rapids Furniture Record from 1917

Haha, Yes it is CURRY (aka RAZ). I know I haven't contacted you yet because I keep updating it - I will send you the same final version as the one I try to sell a few copies of. If I had sent you one back in May, right after the little contest it would have only been about 200 pages. Since posting the update above in May (then about 220 pages), I've added about 30 more pages, so it's about 250 pages now! Honestly, it's feeling pretty close to done, as a 1st edition anayways. On the other hand, I'm thinking about adding clock makers as well, and this would add several more pages.

Yes, both of those are in. I have Oregon Chair Co. as the official listing however - is this what you mean or do you have a specific tag for Oregon Furniture Manufacturing?

I've done a bunch of work on it lately - it was over 300 pages at one point but has been editted down to about 285. I'd say 95% done right now.

Stonecat -
I am guessing you are going to make an announcement when it is ready, but for the record, I definitely want a copy (just in case I need to say so to get in on the 1st edition!). It is going to come on CD right?

Looks like the spambots have found this forum lately. Guess you'll have to disable guest posting and require registration (which most forums/boards do nowadays).

Will this label guidebook be available as a download when finished? Or will you just sell CD copies only?

Yes the spam never seems to stop - I have access to the furniture section and usually delete it pretty quick.

The database will be just CD to start. Its up over 300 pages again (326 I think). I might vet it through an expert editor first before trying to sell a few. Stay tuned - I only work on it part time so it sits for a long time before I get back at it.
