coolchair, is it yours or did you just find a pic?
all i could find on google was someone seeking info:Richard Cox wrote Dec. 3, 2004: I have a Morris chair that belonged to my grandfather and has been in the family for about 100 years. A small metal label on the chair reads Kelly Comfort Chair, Clinton, Iowa. I can find no information about the company. (sherrilrich[at]webtv.net) it is from this site:http://www.artlex.com/delahunt/morris_style_chairs.html |

It's my chair. An example of "patent furniture". I have others. These are great chairs and worth restoring if they can be found. Look for Kelly metal plate on back. The earlier ones were in leather, the later ones with tapestry, the most popular in later years, 1920s, were covered with mohair (seat and back). The fully upholstered reclining chairs are the rarest but they are not arts and crafts style. One nifty feature is that the back simply lifts off for easy moving or crating.
