Where might I find a swivel tilt mechanism for a Craftman #361 office chair I suppose any period mechanism with the right dimentions would do. Anybody got ideas already tried google, bing
local antique stores, upholstery shops and restorers. PLEASE HELP!

You might try Graigslist in your area. Might come up with one that is fairly abused, but has a good swivel and tilt. Have seen several a estate sales, but price is always a little high. Mikey

I would just look up who manufactured them in about 1900-1910. They probably bought them from the nearest factory to theirs.
