We are writing a history of the Robertson Art Tile Company (1890-1982) which was located in Morrisville, PA, with an office in Trenton, NJ. If anyone has tiles (or other artifacts) from this company, we would be interested in purchasing. We also seek ephemera and other items, such as catalogs, ads, photos, postcards, etc. Tiles are usually marked with "ROBERTSON" on the back. After 1943, they were called Robertson Manufacturing, since they added an abrasives division (grinding wheels). We are also interested in these items.
Hi, saw your message about Robertson Art Tile. I am involved in a rennovation of a house with a small backsplash of what would appear to be Robertson tile. Mostly matte green, blue, and maroon 4x4, some 1/2" by 4" accents in pink and blue. Potters mark is "RL" and a small Robertson. We are doing a simple rennovation, and should be able to salvage this intact (with cement on back). I have some pics and will take more if you are interested. Reply to svoboda_tileworks@yahoo.com . I am gutting the second floor bath of my 1925 twin west of Philadelphia, PA. Some of the 4" square wall tiles are marked "ROBERTSON" and "TARGET BACK" along with some other markings. The back of the tile does have raised circles as in the pattern of an archery target. Some of the tiles are in excellent condition and I could donate one to the cause if you'd like it. I'll check back later.
Hello I am working with a customer right now who is trying to repair some tile. He brought in a piece of 4x4 gold crackle tile marked Robertson on the back he is in search of some 2x6 bullnose pcs. and we have had no luck finding them. Please let me know if you come up with anything. You can reply at tricitytile@bvunet.net
I removed a large number of Robertson Tiles from the fireplace area of an old 19th century home just before it was demolished. Most are intact. e mail me at croft63@juno.com and I can provide more details.
We are working on an article to be publishing very soon in which George W. Robertson is mentioned in connection with the Low Art Tile Works. We would be grateful for information regarding his birth and death dates. kluhrs@brantpub.com

I have just purchased some Robertson tile from a salvage place and would like to have more for my bathroom project. It is hexagon 806. Do you have any idea of how I could get more?
I have six blue tiles from the Robertson Company. Each tile has the stamp and came from my father who built his house around 1958. Are you still interested in the tile? I also have a house from 1950 and was trying to match the blue from back then. This is how I found your site. bbear0832@verizon.net
I was hoping that someone could help me find tiles made by the Robertson tile company. We are in the middle of a renovation of our master bath and are missing (19) green 4.25" x 4.25" tiles circa 1931. If anyone knows of a vintage antique tile dealer or where I could find these, I would greatly appreciate it. Craftons@verizon.net

I worked at Robertson American (as it was called) in 1977 through 1980. Spent lots of time rumaging around the plant and had numerous artifacts such as pencil marked bisk (un-glazed) with what appears to be artist work on a new design. Baskets from the 1890's lots of tile samples from over the years. I'd have to check with mum who is still in Pennsylvania if she still has my collection. If the book is complete I would appreciate a copy. Lot's of memories. michaelpb@yahoo.com
Hello my name is Joyce. I just bought a box of smalloctogon tile for my bathroom. It has Robertson written on the back. It looks as though it has not been used, That is why I bought it for my bathroom.
