Hi! I am hoping that someone can help me identify the style or possible designer of my home. It was built in 1911 and is now covered in siding. I was told that under the siding, the house is wood and stucco, no brick. I have looked at a lot of floorplans of the period and nothing is even close to the side of my house as I have 5 rooms down and 3 rooms up. Thanks, Jewlsseven

Hi Jewlsseven --

Welcome to the forum. Your house is a classic bungalow with an inset shed dormer. Without more detail it's difficult to say much more.

Where are you located? Have you seen the siding? Stucco was a fairly common siding material.

Do you know if your house has been modified? How much is original? Are there any house parts stashed in the basement?

The 5/3 configuration is a little larger than usual, but not uncommon. We'd love to see some details ... that's where the craftsmanship is most likely to show up.

Best regards,
Rikki

Thanks Rikki,

I am located in Indiana, north of Indianapolis. I have seen some of the wood under the siding, but didn't see any details. The house still has its original footprint and has not been modified. The house is cleaned out of parts and such that I can locate. I was told that the house was built for a Dr. that had his practice in the two downstairs bedrooms, but I can't confirm it. I will try to post more pictures when I find our missing camera. Does this resemble any kits houses? The last owners said it was a Craftsman, but I find no plans that are close.

Hello Friend,
I too welcome you to the forums and we hope you keep coming back. I have been rather busy in my shop making various Arts and Crafts items as well as refurbishing and repairing furniture, that I haven't been coming here in the last day or two.

Tonight we are having what we call"London,s Old Fashion Christmas" where many thingas are planned with carolers, bands and the general public going back and forth from shop to shop in an effort to find something that might like to buy of order from the various vendors to be made for Christmas or a later date. I will be offering many things in my show room store front to buy out right or order items to be made after the program is over.

Respectfully,

Ralph Jones
