Good Morning Friends,
Scrolling down the different forums I see that there has been a decline in posts inquiring about the many different items on this forum.
Are we losing some for lack of interest? I certainly hope not.

I run up and down these forums daily attempting on keeping the forums clean of spam so there will be an interest in the items we have to offer. I know that the lack of ability for posting pictures has a little to do with it especially since you have to buy into a program in order to post any.

Please be patient as I am sure that the two fine ladies are searching for a server that will allow us more room for pictures.

Respectfully,

Ralph Jones

Ralph,

I have not seen any decline in interest or postings. This is probably the most active and vibrant forum dedicated to the Arts & Crafts Movement.

I am grateful for the occasional rest in questions and am delighted when someone posts an image of their treasures.

Good morning! I, too, find that the forum is not as active as some others. It also seems to more conservative in tone. I changed my e-mail notification from daily to weekly because no one was responding to my posts as promptly as I'd hoped. This is where my Aladdin house research began, however, and I would love to see more activity on the site. I do know that we all love pictures, and being able to post them easily is a plus. I'll keep watching to see if others respond to this question, and I will continue on my other forum for now.

Thanks, Anne (Aladdin 1916 Richmond owner)

Once bitten, does anyone ever really lose interest? We expect we'll see highs and lows periodically in certain topics.

Lauren is working on moving old images off the server and storing them on Flickr to create slide shows there that we can link to ... at least until we have the same storage capacity here. (Small accounts at Flickr are free, but we bought pro accounts ($50) so now we have infinite space.) That will free up space for people to post their images along with their articles.

I can't emphasize enough the convenience of Flickr. An ordinary account is free and once you get the hang of it, it's very, very easy to post your questions or comments and embed your link with the post.

Instructions

1. Once images are loaded on Flickr, click the image you want to show to display its page.
2. Right click on the image, then select Copy Image Location.
3. In the post, select the icon that looks like a picture ... it's the second from the right in the toolbar above the message box.
4. Copy the URL into the textbox and click OK.
Save your message. The image should show up.

Photobucket is another similar utility.

Hi Rikki,
I am already signed in on Flickr but, I forgot how to open it so I can add more pictures.

Any and all help will be appreciated, I think I am having one of those senior moments lately,"all day long." I can't figure how to get to my account. My desktop only has the upload portion and will not take me to my account.

Respectfully,

Ralph Jones

I certainly hope they aren't! I just signed up because this looked like a good place to discuss the Arts and Crafts movement--especially now that there is a new craft movement growing on the web.

Good Morning Meggie,
Welcome to the Arts and Crafts Forums and I doubt that we will disappear as there are times when we have a slight lag in activities but, in the long run we still keep going and growing in population of folks signing on the forums.

As you no doubt found out, that all A&C Movement items are not just on furniture.

Hope to see your name often.

Respectfully,

Ralph Jones

Good Morning Friends,
I just scanned the forums and I find that my thinking that the interest in these forums are not declining as I had once thought but, instead they seem to be growing with all of the new members who are joining in.

Welcome to all of you newer members and we hope that you find these forums to your liking and we also welcome your input.

Respectfully,

Ralph Jones

I have to admit that I have a lot more stuff to post than I really have the time to photograph and find a way to post...I really like this forum; it allows me to see the great stuff others have found.

Hello Vinta circa design,
All you have to do is to go to www.flickr.com and open it up and then join yahoo with your new photo account which is free and leave it open all of the time and you can go to any picture, right click on it and then click on properties and highlight the URL and right click on copy as I have done now and I then can insert it in my reply to your post.

Now when I send this to you is will appear.

Respectfully,

Ralph
