Readers of this forum may be interested in my website, The Prairie School Traveler. My goal is to list all extant buildings of this style, from the iconic examples of Wright, Purcell & Elmslie, and Walter Burley Griffin, to the efforts of regional and local architects inspired by the works of these great men.

While we usually associate the Prairie School with the upper Midwest, it took root in a surprising number of places, such as California, Utah and Florida. It even appears overseas, in the Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Japan and Australia.

While my own travels form the basis of the PST, many visitors have sent information and photographs that have greatly expanded the usefulness of the site. I welcome all contributions!

If you like to see historic buildings when you travel, and have an interest in the Prairie School, I hope you'll visit The Prairie School Traveler.

Thanks for dropping by. I have found the site to be very useful. In fact I was just there researching Buffalo for a trip to New York later this year.

Glad to hear that you've found the PST to be helpful--you're using it in exactly the way it was intended.

Enjoy your time in Buffalo--definitely an underrated place for architecture. It's not on many people's radar, but Buffalo is a virtual grain elevator museum. Also check out Central Terminal. When I first visited Buffalo many years ago, this 1929 railroad station was open to the weather...very bizarre for a building with a 17-story office tower. Now it appears to be reviving: http://buffalocentralterminal.org/

Have a good trip!
