simple small house with a recessed porch and massive support brackets. also interesting are the brick posts on the corners of the extended porch slab.

note the driveway paving ending at the sidewalk and the huge tree preventing it from going to the street. helps to give a sense of age to the picture.

cute house, your thread and the rest of the board has been a bit quiet lately. habitat maintenance and work have been taking up every minute for me. i just finished hacking back about 400 ft. of caragana hedge ( my place and the vacant lots adjacent). i could have retired a month ago but driving trains is a hoot so i will stay around for a few months yet. the first tree swallows of the year showed up yesterday to fill up my birdhouse, i love spring, then again who doesn't?

I always like seeing the pics with the fireplace and chimney because you often see the little inglenook windows on either side - makes you try to picture what it looks like inside; built-ins, wainscotting, mantel, etc.

..off topic since wabash brought it up..

I like the mountains in Spring...been to Whistler and Banff in the spring, great time to be out west. Maybe someday I'll make it to Smithers! Out here, spring means antiquing - field shows happening, outdoor auctions, etc. A buddy wanted to drive down to Brimfield this year but didn't happen - Brimfield is one HUGE show and has to be experienced to be believed, apparently.
