first, the bad things... replacement windows are second only to vinyl siding as the great evils to the bungalow...then comes wrought iron railings...

now, the good stuff. i love the offset of the porch with the three massive columns. also the small round window next to the door. the small end gable balances the whole front very nicely.

..are those real columns or rocket boosters from the space shuttle? ..a little out of proportion for what they're holding up, but still gives you column bragging rights..my columns are bigger than yours, sort of thing..

i think that is one of the most interesting aspects of bungalow architecture. the columns are generally more massive than structurally necessary.

big stone tappered columns that end in a 4x4 actually holding up the roof. the effect is goal. yes, i admit i am of the camp bigger is better.
