Alright, since the Mission Man did this on Sunday, I'll take it for Monday.
The attached photo is really not a bungalow, but I found it nestled amongst a ton of bungalows. It appears to be more of a Victorian era cottage, but who knows. It is rather striking regardless of the genre of architecture. I love the symmetry on this one and that multi-bank of windows between the gables. Enjoy. Regards, Eric |

hard to classify this one. not really a true victorian. minimal reference to tudor in upper gables. center bank is almost english as well. roof projection on gables is more a bungalow characteristic.
eclectic to say the least, but feels comfortable |

i'll add an interesting one. i love the scale of the roof and dormer over the porch, like the columns are being compressed, highlighting the dark recess of the porch. (is that a contradictory statement, highlighting darkness?)
the brackets on the dormer are also nice. ![]() |

Can I add mine? We like to call it an arts and crafts-english cottage-bungalow. The wierd part is that this house has incredibly ornate ceilings, mixed with frank lloyd wright style art glass. Some idiot took out the original gas fireplace, though. Any opinions on what this house should be called?

Eric, I love unique details like the bank of windows between the dormers
Don, I think it's an oxymoron, my favorite is "to preserve freshness" which you see on a lot of food labels. That porch reminds me of how dark my living room can be on a cloudy day, otherwise a nice house. Nicole, that is your house? wonderful. Mine is the original brown and white that it always was and I feel an obligation to keep it that way, yet I am drawn to most of the brighter ones. Great house, consider yourself fortunate. Wabash BTW- Holy crap, there were 53 people logged on at one point yesterday, Don, do you have any idea how many members we have or is it somewhere here and I am just missing it? |

53 as a guest count is pretty high, I've seen the 40s but never the 50s
The number of members isn't posted anywhere but I don't think it would mean much given that over the few years the forum seems to have been up, probably 95% of people that have completed the registration have only posted once as a member and then disappeared. The important factor is how many "active" members there are, meaning people with at least several posts and who contribute regularly. Fortunately, the 'traffic' has picked up in the last little while and we seem to have several regulars posting almost daily now. |

This is a great forum with pretty slow traffic. I've been a casual lurker for awhile and recently had more to contribute. I plan to continue and am motivated since I am taking a plain '50s rancher and applying some A&C sensibility to a significant renovation. Regards, Eric |
